I havent posted any of my tunes here.

I use Orion Platinum though. Its like a all in one sequencer and studio. Much the same as Reason and Fruity Loops.

If your looking to get into production you might want to start with something like Dance Ejay which allows you to use premade loops and sequence then. Then prehaps work onto something like Octamed Soundstudio which is a tracker which allows you to sequence wave samples and make your own riffs etc. Finally something like Cubase / Reason / Orion will be easy to learn. That was my learning curve anyway. Good luck.

Yep. Definatly with Fruity Loops because I did it myself but you can't save it.

You could always do the old file sharing program thing and get a copy. I know its shunned upon but not everyone can afford the high price tag on cubase for bedroom productions.

orite steve o...some of this may have already been said but i am putting it down for others aswell...

yes as mentioned above i would say its critical you start off with something like dance ejay even though you cant do much on it. why?.. basically by selecting different melodies, basses, and vocals and putting them into a roll and playing as a song you are training yourself in a way, because you learn what melodies go with what bases etc...and you develop better ears for sounds...if that makes sence.

Obviously when your used to dance ejay your gunna wonna move on and start creating your own melodies. and for this i do reccomend FL Studio...

in answer to your above question yes, you can try fruityloops for free(save feature disabled) from the site which will direct you to tucows.

anyway...
using fruity on its own is not good, its not supplied with the right samples or synths to nock out a good trance, hardcore or makina track.

for samples visit..
www.loops.net / www.samplecity.net/forum/

get anything 'hard' that you can, even some 'shite' samples can be edited with mixer effects and some tweaking and they can sound really good.. but you need to know what your doing i suppose.

synths:
these come as vsts for fruity(not supplied)
THE MAIN ONE: Native Instruments PRO-53... this synth is amazing, we all use it, no matter what your producing you can make it with this synth.
next in line is JUNGLIST.. we use this for our basses, amazing
for more synths if needed you can use FM7... fruityloops doesnt like this synth and can cause problems but still works non the less.

Once you have all this in place you just need to learn fruityloops and trust me its not as hard as it looks so keep at it.

with newer versions of fruity ther is a re-wire plugin! luvin it' u can now get Propellerheads Reason which is a really advanced hardware interface application that lets you produce some really professional sounding shit really easily.. and with re-wire it works with fruity of course get to grips woth fruity first.

Id be happy to write up a tutorial guiding you how to make a simple makina track and i;ll supply you with the flp and samples to get you started..or is it hardcore you want to make?

if u wonna no anything else let me know, av probs jus talked pure shite there neways lol..

other populkar sequencer is cubase, but to me its just a hader, ugly version of fruityloops.

how did u get involved with nemesis??...fuck knows!!! we got talkin on msn 1 day, we both have similar interests such as makin music, websites and running things so we got on pretty good, but he is no different from any one else so if you wonna get involved with someone like him then my only advice is dont treat them like they are different, by this i mean.. dont lick their arse saying class on decks or wotever, dont try n blag free stuff like tickets, cds, dvds or whatever... coz i no a few ppl and all they do is block ppl who add them on msn who try this stuff.

good luck with ya music m8.

A few of my friends have started using Reason, I can get the bass lines going no bother, but I have no idea where to start making a melody....

If you wanted to write a tutorial it would certainly come in handy mate ;-)

Also, on the subject of cubase.... I have had it for 2 days... as of yet , i dont know what the fuck its all about, lol... looks too hard to me.

I just want to answer a few questions ALOT of people ask me on MSN about cubase.

I use Cubase 5/ vst 32, but its also time to move on to SX like Neil Surteez uses(with the damn usb key lol). And forcer.. its much sexyer then frutiy now lol :D

1st question

Q)How do i cut the samples on cubase?

A) You dont its a sequencer not a audio editor.

Q) How do i make a bass line?

A) That is the most annoying question ever because its impossible to answer with out you knowing how cubase works and me being there to show you.All i could say is . Its the sound that goes in between the beat.

Q) How did you start?

A) On a sony playstation with music 2000

Matrix wanted something different like a live pa instead of just djs after djs, so he decided to ask neil if he would do a PA, i knew neil and i joined in.

Was good fun, we were called XEROX after a photo copyer becaused we used spanish samples.Hence copying.
