this happened to mine all the time but it was within the years warranty so a sent it back and they fitted it with a new fan which cools it down more

its either ya bed cover blocking the vents and keeping the heat in the fabric causing it to over heat. or ya got a defective battery.

look on the website of the brand of laptop ya got. look for a link to battery recals or defective batterys do a search on the serial number as most laptop companies over the last few years have used faulty batteries which can over heat and cause a electrical fire. if so they will send out a new battery for free.

I could of told u tht wont ov done much, the heat is coming from inside the laptop, all that fan thing is gunna do is cool the bottom or wherever u place it, making it ok to sit on your knee but its still over heating inside so will eventually crash... mine crashes whenever i've got it on my bed like. when you've got it on places like that make sure the heat can still escape ok.

You need to take it to a shop and have the thermal paste re-applied... its this stuff they put between the processor and cooler to transfer the heat quicker. Processors get really hot in seconds... its on all computers but they are stinjy on it when it comes to laptops and it often dries out and starts making your laptop over heat... it could also be that your fan has become clogged and isn't spinning as fast as it should.

i ment if i'd seen the thread durr haha.. err just take it and say u THINK ur laptop is overheating and crashing that u THINK its need some more thermal paste on the heatsink as the heat is not being dispurst properly... but just tell him to look and see what he thinks, coz it might not be that, but its just what it sounds like coz it happens to mine.

Check if its broke, or dirty. Dont let it burn because you will destroy everything inside it.

Let sum1 handy with ther hands unscrew it and check there like watches to put back together.

If not im sure you could bring it into a shop for like a tenner and get a new fan
