dont bother with wep keys
just login to your router: http://192.168.1.1 (or something similar)
look for the option called SSID Broadcast and untick it,
this stops your signal from being publically broadcast so when people search they wont be able to find your signal, the only way people can connect (including yourself) is if they know the name of your SSID, there should be an option somewhere to set this aswell... then go you into the wireless settings on your PC and enter the network name manually.. it should then pick it up.

the WEP key is probs wrong ? i dont know much about them to be honest as ive always stuck with SSID protection, its just as secure and no fucking around with keys.

na the key is deffo right it gave me a choice of which keys i cud use n i choose one n rite it down, it says the router and computer are connected but the router isnt connected to the internet.. this might be becos, from the virgin media modem i havem theres a ethernet ending so i have a ethernet end coming from that into one of the 4 ethernet slots on the router but to the right theres a phone wire type slot.. i used to use bt with the router so it went in fine the ethernet is to big so maybe the net isnt working because i have the ethernet in the rong hole, can you get a type of cable which is one end ethernet size head and one end phoneline, because i rekn ths the main reasdon it aint workn cos ive got the ethernet connectin to a port thats set as a output on the router?
