Favourite MC's nd DJ's

I dont really have a favourite mc or dj cos i reckon they all have so different styles that they cant really compared but i do think some mc's nd dj's are quality at certain things, like Stompin is best at knowin the tunes , knows when to kick off and get the crowd goin, then ther is the likes of Ace nd Tazo who are best at bein fast, then like scotty j who has wicked lyrics.

so what does any1 else think, do uz have 1 real favourite or like different mc's nd dj's for their different skills.

ma fav mc is techno t. hes clear u can always understand his lyrics, i dont like mc's that go so fast ya cant decypher what the fck they say..

My personal choice varies from time to time depending on when hearing people out, they can be up & comings or the more established names either past or present.

Here's a few though:-

Dj's-Sy (the main man, no one comes close imo), Illusion (quality always), Dj Scott (wikkid selection @ the Powerhouse), Trouble (Scratches like a mofo), Mayhem (for pushin the 'ardcore), Bushby (cos I want his collection of old stuff) Mischief (wkkd on the dex), Excel, Bassy G (for always being different & choppin it constant), Crossfade, Direct, Matrix, Scott Brown, the list could go on & on & on but I better stop there.

Mc's-Storm, G Force, Techno T, Direct, Stompin, MC MC, Peta Pan, Sneaky Eye (okay not as technical but f**king quality all the same, it's ot all about rambling over the music non stop, although he did ramble some funny sh*t), Marley & lastly MC Steppa.

Loads really.

Spanish scene :


Pastis & Buenri - for being crazy motherfuckers and playing for 7 hrs non-stop on 4 dex when I was at Xque... respect!!!

Javi Tracker - complete originality and the fastest mixer i've ever known, has to be on 3 or 4 decks though

NE Scene

DJ Scott - Technically spot on & always mint tune selection, Makina trendsetter.

DJ Trouble - The only Hangar DJ that scratches (very well) and very bouncy tunes. Always tight mixing.

UK Hardcore scene

Scott Brown - For always being the main man, sticking with Hardcore through the darkest years and coming out on top.. played Gabber on Radio 1 :) (and more than got away with it)

DJ Sy - The scratching trendsetter & always the best... not scared to fling in an unknown tune from an up & coming artist if he thinks its good enough... bouncy as hell of late.

Brisk - Always unique in style & the tightest mixer in the UK Hardcore scene. Next Generation fast becoming a main label for me again after many, many years.

Sharkey - Top man, always Hardcore. forever pushing boundaries with his unique style... always the most interesting DJ on Bonkers albums since the start.


Best MC's - Techno T, Storm.... up & coming - Stretch

Orite every1, there are alot ov gd mc's and a lot ov half desent mc's (this applies for dj's aswell) Most mc's have there own style and this is wha makes them better. Personaly i think scotty Jay is the best mc going @ the moment but all mc's have there gd times and there bad, ravers always change there mind on who they think are there best mc becasue all mc's perform differently every week.

one word!!..........SCOTT, made the north east hardcore scene wot it is today, been around from day 1, still here bangin out wikid sets week in week out, and now with makina shop he delivers the best choonage to all up n cumin DJ's. spot on!! hahaha!!

as for MC's, me personal faveourite is stretch, but Turbo-D, Scotty- Jay, Ace, Jet have all either been or still are at the top of me list!! and a special mention to MC Hype!! ledgend in my eyes!! buddy-a-ha-ha-ha-ha!! used to be one of the only reasons i listened to hardcore back in "nahm" lol

I dont really like any of the new age mc's. the only one that i think is sort of original is Scotty Jay and maybe Stretch

But the best mc's are the ones from a few years ago when they used to rule the monkey and the hangar

as for Dj's as far as im concerned Scott and trouble are number :D one dj's in the north east. but id say that sy is my favourite i can get over his scratching

I agree wiv Haston about Stretch, his rhymes flow like a meandering river n he has nice mix of fast n slow. His rhymes r gud aswell!!!
Have to say Marley is a gud MC and ne1 can beat Storm at scratchin'!!! (not bad rhymes either!)

DJ's
Haston n Bounceman r 2 of ma fav dj's at the min (after listenin 2 their mixes on sbthq.net) Nice choon selection n a canny bit of BCN.
Then theres Scott, Trouble, Dexy (up n comin'!) then the likes of Scott Brown n Sy (scratchmaster!).
For music production, I would say Styles (well Im in2 the trancey stuff int I?!) or Scott Brown.

Got to be DJ's like Charlie, Lee Foster, Excel, Bassy G, Morris and Selector C. Made the scene what it is today.

Ive been listening to "hardcore"/"rave" since i was at the age of 10.lol.my very 1st tape was from the blue monkey in norton(stockton-on-tees) and i have to say the mcs have become much better since the music started getting alot faster even though some of the old skool mcs are amazing e.g g-force...........But its all new skool for me at the moment the likes of double vision have 2 be my fave ACE N TAZO!

Dj's.....i prefer spanish djs e,g Xavi metralla,Skudero,Xavi boss and pastis n buenri!Although people like nemesis and nitro and swkd also!

oi oi my favorite MC is probably Trance because he rocks the mic virtually without stoppin BUT Scotty Jay has the best lyrics I personnally don't like Turbo-D as for DJ's Nitro, Mikey O'Hare n Chrissy G are all amazin.

My Fave Dj's would have to be Dj Impulse Or Dj Quest nd Dj Matrix this is because they all have different styles and all play unique sets when they get on the dex at an event. My Fave MC's would have to be Stompin, Stretch nd Scotty J because they all bring there own style and enthusiam when they grab the mic also Strecth and Scotty J are the best MC's b2b by far nobody comes close.!!!!!

i dont agree bout scotty jay like. dont get me wrong he is different and has some quality rhymes but for me his voice is not the best for mcin plus i think he repeats his rhymes too much in one set. only my opinion tho, everyone has different taste nd gets a different buzz. for me it has to be stompin and stretch nd scott for his tune selection nd trouble for his overall dj style

Ronez has got millions of rhymes like but from what i here of im on tapes he jus like a video or summit goin ova and ova, he got no spotaniousity, he cant make stuff up of his head nd that, for me u gotta be able to that to be one of the best, thats why i reckon stompin will be always one of the best

There is a few MC's who dont really think things up off the top of their heads or freestyle as sum ppl call it, turbo d doesnt do it much, same goes for trance and probably scotty jay, stompin = master at it, neva know what hes gonna say next, tnt, tazo and ace all do it very well aswell, personally i think tnt is best out of the awesome 3 at it like, says sum mad shit when hes on top form.
