R.I.P Tom Wilson

The legend that is Tom Wilson has sadly died due to a heart attack.
For those younger ones out there this guy done a hell of alot for the rave scene in Scotland in the early 90's right upto present.

It was Tom's ridiculously popular Saturday night show 'Steppin Out' that got most of our generation into the Rave scene, including myself. Radio Forth FM's switchboards would be jammed for the duration of the show with requests & shout outs. I even remember reading that a group of people used to drive from the North East of England in a Transit van to Central Scotland every Saturday night just to hear Tom's show. Tom was a great person and in 1998 when we started our first ever night in Falkirk, he offered to play for free to help us get it off the ground.. he then plugged our night on his radio show and it was a roaring success. He also played our mixes on his Radio show in Thursday night primetime on Scotlands biggest radio station. Tom will be a great loss, a true gentleman and absolute legend of the rave scene. I had the pleasure of working with Tom Wilson on many occasions and he will be sadly missed... there is a condolence book over at his site www.tomdj.co.uk

This is very sad news!

The man did do a hell of a lot for the scottish rave scene.
He was a roll model to many and from what I can gather he was a really nice bloke!

jesus! a cnt believe tha like, tom wilson = legend!!! am only 17 but av been listening to tom wilson 4 years wen he was comin dwn to do the powerhouse n hysteria etc etc! thats a sad loss for the rave scene as a whole n not just scotland! RIP TOM
