OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS IN THE RAVE SCENE WE HAVE EFFECTIVELY SEEN THE DEATH OF THE "LIVE PA"(LIVE BAND).
FROM THE EARLY 90'S UP UNTIL ABOUT 99/2000 WE HAD LOADS OF QUALITY PA'S WHO USED TO PUT ON WICKED SOUND AND VISUAL SHOWS FOR THE RAVER SUCH AS "NEUROTEK","ULTIMATE BUZZ","BASSY G & TECHNOTRANCE","ROTTERDAM TERROR CORPS","Q-TEX","TECHNOPIA"AND"THE RHYTHMIC STATE".
BUT NOW ALL THERE SEEMS TO BE IS "THE TRANCE TROOPERS"(SCOTT,TECHNO T&ATTACK) AND THEY HAVENT PUT ON A SHOW FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS.
ALL THAT HAPPENS NOW IS THE PROMOTERS BOOK BIG-NAME FOREIGN DJ'S(who are usually shite anyway).
THE OLD PA'S USED TO BE CLASS COS IT WASNT JUST ABOUT THE TUNES AND THE MC-ING, THEY HAD LOADS OF THINGS GOING ON ON STAGE SUCH AS SEXY DANCERS(my favourite),FIRE WORKS,ROBOT-DANCERS,FIRE-EATERS AND ALL SORTS OF TRIPPY THINGS THAT LOOK CLASS WHEN YOU'RE OFF YA NUT.
I RECKON WE NEED SOME MORE BANDS KICKIN THE SCENE TO LIVEN THINGS UP A BIT, WHAT DO YOUS RECKON?

I tryed to put the trance troopers on at thge palace but at the moment there is nowhere they can really go.
But later on in the year the dj stand is getting knocked down and a stage build for stuff like this.
I also wanted to put the p.a on at the boat but the boat wanted the dj stand on the stage bit so that has knocked that on its head.

NICE 1 SCOTT. THE PALACE NEEDS A PROPER STAGE. IT WUD BE CANNY GOOD IF IT WAS AT THE BACK WHERE THE REVOLVING DANCEFLOOR IS COS THEN ALL THE DANCERS WOULD BE FACING THE FRONT AND THE DANCEFLOOR AREA WOULD BE BIGGER.

Yeah I gotta admit that a good PA was class.. but the thing is that in Scotland everybody and their dog thought they could have a PA, which meant all these bad PA's were popping up with awful cheesy tunes that sounded like they were made in 5 minutes, combine that with a bunch of nuggets jumping around in clown suits, it made more of a mockery of the scene than anything else.
But I agree, a good PA was different class, the Dutch always provided the best stage shows at Rez etc, some amazing live acts came from there (except the Party Animals.. ooh they were bad)
It will be good if there is a stage at the Palace and Scott can get his PA on and maybe try and book some as well.. the best PAs I can remember seeing at Rez..
Ruffneck Alliance
Rotterdam Terror Corps (strippers and sex shows on stage)
4 Tune Fairytales (their singer was stunning)
Casio Brothers (fittest dancers ive ever seen)
Q-Tex
QFX
Ultimate Buzz, by the way... are absolute shite!!!!

They were the biggest joke of the Hardcore scene in Scotland... they didnt use their own tracks on their PA.. they stole tracks from other people. Callan Bright (MC Bee) was the person everyone loved to hate.

I DIDNT REALISE THAT LYK. BUT WHEN I COME TO THINK OF IT WHEN THEY DID A PA THERE WERE ONLY A COUPLE OF CHOONS I EVER RECOGNISED SUCH AS BOUNCE MASTER AND CHECK THE BASS. I'VE ALSO HEARD ABOUT MC BEE AND HIS SNEAKY WAYS.
ONE OF THE PA'S I NEVER GOT TO SEE WERE "BASS X"(scott brown and his bro,i think)-WERE THEY ANY GOOD LYK HASTON?

Aye their tunes were amazing, they had a crap MC though when I seen them.. Q-Tex (scotts other PA) were better. Ultimate Buzz always played Scott Browns mix of Check Da Bass in their set as well and claimed it was theirs. Thats why Scott remixed it in 96 and called the track 'rock that body' to eliminate any ties that Ultimate Buzz had with the track.
