i love em both, but i've been buying hardcore for about 8 years or summit aswell as makina and bouncy techno, german trance etc. i aint really buying makina anymore tho cos the upfront uk hardcore is kickin its arse at the moment i reckon. stuff from quosh, evolution, raverbaby etc will eventualy take over from makina in the north-east i reckon its just a matter of time, makina can't last forever.... we just need more ppl supporting hardcore as well as makina......

I love em both too, it shouldn't really be Hardcore vs Makina.. there's room for both and they can both be played in the same set.

I didn't mean the poll as one against the other.I was just fed up of all the kids on the guestbook bigging up makina when they havnt realy opened there eyes to the ne upfront hardcore.
each to there own imo I just wanted to get a general feel of peoples thoughts.
Got some messy pics ov ya derek btw ;)

I wasn't criticising your poll mate.. just talking about the 2 styles playing at events in general. It's a decent poll to see what people like better... can't wait to see those photos :o :p

Theres plenty of room for the both of them. Look at the amount of Makina events at the moment. To stay original and fresh I recorn some of them should sort out some UK Hardcore sets. It seems to be heading that way.
Probably best not to have a UK hardcore / Makina events divided. As we have seen by the last couple of events our scene is small and attendance is needed from both sides.
At the end of the day its all HARDCORE!

Well I Love Makina This Might Be Becouse I Havent Heard Much Hardcore The Only Place Ive Heard Hardcore Was At Oasis And It Wasnt Upto Much The First Three Sets Of Hardcore Were Boring Then Dj Direct Came On With A Classic Makina Set And Rocked The Dancefloor To Bits. Hardcore Might Come Round In A Few Year But Lets Just Enjoy The Music We Love And Go To The Clubs That Play Wat We Like, There Is A Large Variety Of Clubs Around At The Moment So Theres Plenty To Choose From :)

Sorry to say but hardcore has been well around far more than Makina.
Now as I always say I Like Makina but if you just listen to some upfront hardcore, meet the people who actualy produce it ya might get mt drift.
I could bang on saying Makina is Kazoo music but that would be silly because we all know its not but some is...same gous for upfront.
Like people say there's a place for both styles but it would be nice for some of the northeast crowd to actualy travel more than a 100 miles to a venue and see other scenes, mainly an upfront venue!

I love all the upfront makina thats coming out at the moment i dont like any of the cheese that sounds like its to keep kids entertained in the soft play at wacky warehouse example monkey stuff its just crap and deffo suited to a age group its really bad.I do like some uk hardcore but not much and some of it is really bad too but the stuff that gets played at hangar is well wicked mixed with the new makina.

Although I like Makina (except the really cheesy stuff) I started off listening to Hardcore and now find myself going back to it, old hardcore is the best but I'm starting to get into the new stuff.

I like alot of the uk harcore but mainly the scott brown stuff but i dont think i could find a full set of what i do like of it.The uk stuff i do play fits in nice with the new x-que - ruboy - sadden music stuff.
When i play at uprising or Diz or tfi this is the sort of set i would play and the crowd cant tell the difference of what is uk or spanish because it so alike now and they love it and these clubs are real uk hardcore clubs.
Uk hardcore will never be massive up here on its own but you can make it fit by finding the right elements of both styles to progress forward which the new makina is.
You dont see much of the old style makina coming out now unless its by konik or pildo and thats only because they cant produce the x-que style of makina its to advanced for them but both have had some good tracks out in there time but sadly that style has been and gone now.
Makina will be the most wanted style in the northeast for sometime to come there is always tracks being released each week from spain which is not the case of the uk hardcore.
If your into hardcore alot and like scott brown style try all the new makina it will blow you away.

Makina is like one of those things that just won't fuckin hurry up and die, it's on the floor pissing of blood with it's gutts hanging out but won't just fuck off, some dj's need to whip out some hardcore sets and and kill the cunt once and for all,
die makina dieeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
